A GEO agency (or AI SEO agency) makes sure a business is cited in the answers given by artificial intelligence, from Google’s AI Mode to Gemini and ChatGPT. In Paris, it combines search engine optimisation on Google with optimisation for AI, two levers that reinforce each other.

A question about your GEO project?
A GEO agency in Paris that got a head start
We have been working with machine learning since 2013, back when the models that would become today’s AI still had to be trained. The arrival of generative AI led us to formalise a long-term approach, the GAIA method, on which every one of our GEO assignments is based. Read our story.
Generative. Short, self-contained answers with their figures and sources, which AI can reuse without distorting them.
Authority. Identical information across the web and favourable reviews, wherever AI checks who you are.
Information. Content only you can provide, projects, figures, dated observations, and therefore unique sources for AI.
Agents. A website open to AI crawlers and readable by the agents that will book and buy on your customers’ behalf.
AI agents are already part of everyday use. In its AI Mode, Google lets you book a restaurant table 1, and Muse, the agent Meta unveiled in September 2026, books flights and hotels. Preparing your website for these agents means preparing for the way your customers will buy tomorrow.
Some examples of our GEO agency’s results
Verifiable results, not promises
GEO is a young discipline that appeared with generative AI and took shape in 2025, and we practise it according to the GAIA method. Its foundation, SEO, has been the profession of Oli-via-net’s founder, Nicolas Peter, since 2001, first as a freelancer and then at the head of the agency founded in 2016. More than 200 projects have followed. Here are some dated, verifiable results, including citations by Google’s AI.

More about Paris
Around ten million foreign visitors come every year. A Paris business owner therefore speaks to three audiences, Parisians, people living in the wider metropolitan area and travellers searching in their own language. Being recommended by AI is played out at several levels, from the neighbourhood to searches made from abroad.
The metro has had sixteen lines since 2017, complemented by five RER lines, around fifteen Transilien lines and an almost circular tramway, lines T3a and T3b. Six major stations, Austerlitz, Est, Gare de Lyon, Montparnasse, Nord and Saint-Lazare, connect the capital to every city in France and to neighbouring countries. Walking accounts for 40% of daily journeys and the car for 13%.
Most of France’s grandes écoles are in Paris and its urban area, and the Paris-Saclay campus is an international research hub. For a business, that means students as customers and recruiters everywhere, but also very dense competition in every neighbourhood.

Head offices, finance and start-ups in one place
In 2017, the Île-de-France region was home to twenty-seven head offices of Fortune Global 500 companies, more than New York or London. La Défense, in the metropolitan area, is the largest business district in Europe. Paris is home to the head offices of BNP Paribas and AXA, Europe’s leading insurance group, and LVMH is Europe’s largest company by market capitalisation. The Paris financial centre was ranked fifth in the world in 2023.
More about the Paris economy
Alongside the large groups, business services account for a third of establishments in Paris. The business directory lists 11,581 advertising agencies, 27,467 computer programming companies and 99,396 consultancies. Station F, housed in the former Halle Freyssinet, is the largest start-up campus in the world, and the city had around forty incubators in 2016.
Crafts and industry still account for a significant share of jobs, and neighbourhood shops are holding out against the growth of large supermarkets. A Paris independent therefore competes not only with head offices but with their neighbours on the same street.

How Google’s AI Mode chooses the businesses it cites
Since 22 July 2026, Google has been showing AI Overviews above its results in France, as well as an AI Mode where you have a conversation with the search engine 1. The text displayed is written by the AI, which only draws on a few pages it considers reliable.
- 1Citation. The AI bases its answer on a page of your website and shows the link. This is the strongest form of recognition.
- 2Mention. Without a link, the AI simply writes your business’s name, which the customer remembers.
- 3Business profile. The answer also shows your Google Business Profile and your reviews, at a glance.
When an AI overview is shown, a click on a classic link happens in only 8% of visits, compared with 15% when there is none 1. Being included in the overview now counts as much as a good ranking.
From audit to follow-up, our work in Paris
Five steps, from the first check to monthly follow-up
No two assignments are alike. We start from your trade, your competitors in Paris and what AI already says about you. Some steps always come back, others depend on your situation.
- 1
AI visibility audit
We start with a dated check. Your customers’ questions in Paris are put to Google’s AI Mode, Gemini, ChatGPT and other AI tools, and we record the businesses cited along with their sources.
- 2
Technical foundations
A website that AI crawlers can read effortlessly, with structured data, fast pages, an llms.txt file and business information that is consistent everywhere.
- 3
Citable content
Content designed to be picked up by AI, with short answers to your Paris customers’ questions, a byline, proof, figures and projects, in line with E-E-A-T criteria.
- 4
Local authority
Reviews, directories, articles and links from Paris partners, your business’s reputation is also built away from your website. AI consults these sources before recommending anyone.
- 5
Dated monthly follow-up
A check every month, same questions, same AI tools. We archive the answers, count the citations and measure the visits coming from AI, then adjust the plan.
What is E-E-A-T?
- Experience
- Expertise
- Authoritativeness
- Trustworthiness
Behind these letters, Google asks whether the business has proven itself in the field, whether it knows its subject, whether others recognise it and whether it can be trusted.
Why AI has made it essential
An AI checks before it cites. It cross-references your website, your Google profile, your reviews, directories, the press, LinkedIn and official registers, and checks the manager, how long the business has existed and its qualifications. A piece of information that varies from one source to another is enough to make it hesitate.
What this changes for you
For you, online reputation becomes an ongoing task. Recent reviews and careful replies, up-to-date information everywhere, a visible manager, certifications on display. AI is sensitive to all this, and we build it into every assignment.
Competition played out street by street
In Paris, the query is almost never “lawyer” but “tax lawyer in the 8th” or “restaurant open on Sunday near Bastille”. Since 40% of journeys are made on foot, customers choose somewhere close by, from their phone. Your Google Business Profile, your recent reviews and the accuracy of your address decide whether an AI assistant cites you or the business next door.

Your questions, in Paris
Should I target “Paris” or my arrondissement?
Both, but not with the same pages. A shop is worked first on its neighbourhood and its arrondissement, a consultancy on its sector and its business districts. We measure what your customers search for before choosing, then track progress month after month.
My start-up is hosted at Station F. Is that an asset for my visibility?
A campus address is not enough to get you cited. Google and AI assistants rely on your website, your offer pages and external mentions. We describe your product, your use cases and your proof in a way they can pick up. No place is guaranteed, but the work can be measured.
How does follow-up work for a Paris business?
Follow-up is by video call and monthly report, and we come to your premises when an on-site meeting is useful. Prices start at €490 excl. VAT per month.
My head office is in Paris but my customers are all over France. Is local SEO useful to me?
Yes, for your brand and for your trade. People often look for a provider by speciality, not by city. We work on your expertise pages and your Google profile, then check how AI assistants present your business when they are asked.
